Champagne Veuve Fourny & Fils Blanc de Blancs NV (750ml)
Country/ Region:
Champagne, France
Background:
Champagne Veuve Fourny & Fils is a family-owned Champagne house that has been crafting exceptional wines since 1856. Today, brothers Charles-Henry and Emmanuel Fourny lead the estate, seamlessly blending their rich heritage with modern viticultural and winemaking techniques.
Winemaking:
The cuvée is made from first‑press juice and aged seven months on its lees with minimal sulfur. Fermentation takes place in 75% stainless‑steel tanks for freshness and 25% barrels for texture. The blend combines three consecutive vintages with 20% reserve wines for added depth. After bottling, it continues aging on lees in the estate’s 19th‑century cellars, where the cool, steady temperature enhances refinement
Grapes: 100% Chardonnay
Tasting note:
Purity and precision shimmers in lemon zest, grapefruit and fresh pear notes. Wonderful concentration and refinement are upheld at every moment, propelled by the texture and depth of reserved wines, adding hints of toasted nuts and white chocolate. A long, salty and mineral finish well represents the terroir of Vertus.
Food Pairing:
Its signature mineral spine, creamy yet taut acidity, and citrus profile make it ideal for fresh seafood, fresh goat cheese or light poultry, such as, tempura and fish and chips.
